Theft A Comedy/Thriller by Eric Chappell Directed by Joe Carvajal The BLT Barn Theater, Brevard College October 25-27, November 1-3, November 8-10, 2002
ABOUT THE PLAY
The set is the drawing room of a nice home situated out in the countryside. The owners and another couple return to the house after going out for a pleasant anniversary celebration. To their dismay, they find the room in a shambles. The house has been hit by burglers! One of the thieves is still hiding in the house. When he's discovered, he manages to convince the two couples that he is a policeman sent to investigate the break-in. But once his true identity becomes known, he reveals that he knows all kinds of uncomfortable truths about these people (he has been digging through their belongings). Spriggs, the "philosophical burgler," succeeds in disrupting two seemingly happy marriages and one formerly strong friendship in this witty comedy/thriller.
