BLT's See How They Run Sizzles

Brevard Little Theatre's See How They Run, presented in the Cherokee Room
Theater of the Connestee Falls Overlook Clubhouse, is just what the doctor
ordered to cure the winter blues. A madcap comedy from beginning to end, this
British farce, written by Philip King and directed by long-time BLTer Joe
Carvajal, will keep you laughing and entertained for the whole evening or
afternoon.
The lively cast includes newcomer Martha Hogenboom, who infuses the role of
Ida the maid with personality plus. Veteran thespian Anne Munch goes wild as
the exasperating and territorial Miss Skillon. Long-time actor Loran Smith, as
The Rev. Lionel Toop, somehow maintains his dignity while trouserless. Another
veteran actress, Donna Lovejoy, is perhaps in the best role of her acting career
as the effervescent Penelope Toop.
A favorite of theatergoers, Joel Munch, has, as usual, a ball with the role of
Corporal Clive Winton. Nick Funston plays the role of the Russian Spy in a
manner that is diabolical, tragic and at the same time funny. Long-time theater
impresario Carvajal does a remarkable job of playing the challenging role of The
Bishop of Lax.
The experienced Marvin Barg is very good as the naïve and perplexed
Reverend Arthur Humphrey. Award-winning actor Joe Narsavage (back in law
enforcement again!), is brilliantly incompetent as Police Sergeant Towers.
Towers doesn't have a clue as to what is going on, until the “hot potato” is
literally tossed in his lap.
The Cherokee Room Theater is small enough to give you a real cozy, warm
feeling, yet spacious enough so that you don't feel sandwiched in. You can also
have a pre-theater evening buffet dinner or pre-theater Sunday brunch in the
Connestee Falls Overlook Clubhouse's Carolina Dining Room.
Remaining performances are Friday, February 1st, at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday,
February 2nd, at 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, February 3rd, at 3:00 p.m. For
reservations, call 884-2587. For evening dinner or Sunday brunch reservations
call 884-5622.
Drive a little; laugh a lot!
