Barney Cashman enjoys a cozy life.  The middle-aged owner of a New York fish
restaurant, he has been happily married for twenty-three years.  Now he is
desperate to sample the sexual revolution before it's too late.  Enter Elaine, a
hard-drinking femme fatale; Bobbi, an unemployed night club singer, and Jeanette,
Barney's wife's best friend.

Barney's attempts to seduce these wildly unsuitable candidates in three afternoons
of unbridled anticlimaxes in his mother's apartment provide rich opportunities for
the sharp and snappy humor of which Neil Simon is such a master.

Critics have called this "A gem of a play."
