Winners of BLT's Fifth Annual New-Play Competition (2008)

Full-length Play Winner:
Writer's Cramp, or How Will Shakespeare Got Into Show Biz
a comedy written by Larry Glaister, of Sherman, Connecticut.

One-Act Play Winner:
Mama's Almost Birthday
a comedy written by Lily Rusek, of New York City.

Beginning with the upcoming Sixth Annual Competition, a new category is being added:
Short Play Scripts.  These are plays that run for less than 20 minutes.  This is a growing
field among playwrights.  Several theaters around the country are scheduling
presentations featuring only Short Plays, and many authors sent them to BLT in the
competition just ended.  We will have
three winners next year, and will produce all three
for our patrons.
